§ 3-308 Cancellation of Registration

  1. A student who has placed courses on their record and later decides not to attend the university may cancel registration before the first day of instruction for the semester of the courses, provided the student has neither attended any classes nor received any related student services.
  2. Once a student has attended a class or used campus services, the student may not cancel their registration. If the student leaves the university, the student must officially withdraw from the university as required by § 3-312. Refunds for students who withdraw from the university are governed by § 3-508.
  3. Before the first day of instruction for a term, a student may cancel registration and be relieved of all tuition and fee charges. A student may cancel registration in one of the following ways:
    1. By using the online student registration system to drop all classes or submit a Cancel Registration request by 11:59 p.m. (CT) on the last business day before the first day of instruction for the term.
    2. By submitting a written request for cancellation of registration to the student's undergraduate college or graduate department office. The request must be received no later than the close of business on the last business day before the first day of instruction.
